How Mirai began
Mirai started when Kartik and Ilia realized that the current education system wasn’t giving them practical AI skills. Both studied AI at VU Amsterdam but found the courses too theoretical. Ilia’s VC experience with Antler and Kartik’s bootstrapped venture set the stage for rapid growth.

They began teaching one-on-one coaching sessions in their local Amsterdam community, then expanded to workshops at VU Amsterdam and The Hague University, and University of Amsterdam, serving students and faculty alike.
